My piece 'Quiet Morning' is a quiet sunrise that was inspired by the deep forests in Canadian wilderness. The illuminated edges of the spruce trees show the location of the sun rising to announce a new day.
Its grey skies and soft pinks with light yellows were carefully chosen to work with the blues and greens, making them pop. I used a traditional style of painting to create the dark trunks of trees with a low light.
I poured the trees' greens in 5 different shades and finished by a light peppering of the sunrise's light yellow. The clouds are composed to allow your eye to focus on the center sun as the trees disappear into the background. I completed this piece with a handmade floating dark walnut stained pine wood frame. It encompasses the dark outer edges of the piece and hangs Quiet Morning beautifully.
Its abstract details in the clouds have dozens of little bubbles that are transfixing. This landscape piece will create a peaceful feeling on your wall and will thrive in a light toned space due to its dark border.
